Funding, Data and Impact Support

Finding and securing funding can feel daunting, especially in a competitive funding environment. This section brings together funding opportunities, helpful resources and support from our team to help you build confidence, strengthen applications and demonstrate the impact of your work. Whatever stage you are at, we're here to support you.

Securing funding has never been easy, and the current funding landscape continues to be challenging for many organisations. With increasing competition for grants and growing expectations around demonstrating impact, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to know where to start or where to focus your efforts.

That's why we're here to help.

Supporting our members to secure funding and demonstrate their impact is a key part of what we do. Whether you're applying for your first grant, developing a larger funding bid, or looking forways to better evidence the difference your organisation makes, we're here to support you along the way.

We can help you identify relevant funding opportunities, provide guidance on bid writing, share template wording and costings, and support you to use data and impact evidence effectively in your applications.

We can also help you think strategically about your funding priorities and long-term sustainability.

Our Data, Impact and Funding Lead, Aneka,is your main point of contact for funding support and is always happy to have a conversation about opportunities, ideas and challenges. If you're not sure where to begin, just get in touch.

We're constantly keeping an eye on funding opportunities and will share anything that looks relevant through our network meetings, social media channels and our Funding Friday newsletter, which is sent out fortnightly. We encourage members to share any opportunities they come across too.

If you're not already receiving the Funding Friday newsletter, please let us know and we'll make sure you're added to the mailing list.

You'll also find a regularly updated list of ongoing funding opportunities below, including programmes such as the National Lottery and other major funders. It's well worth checking back regularly as new opportunities become available throughout the year.

To help get you started, we've created an Introduction to Funding video, which you can access below:

There are also a number of excellent external resources that we recommend exploring. Your local authority or council may offer grants and funding programmes, and your local networks can often be a great source of advice and expertise.

We also recommend signing up for updates from WCVA (Wales Council for Voluntary Action), which regularly shares funding opportunities and sector news:

Another useful resource is Funding Cymru,a free funding search service from Third Sector Support Wales:

Your local County Voluntary Council (CVC) have excellent knowledge of local funding opportunities and can often point you towards small grants, community benefit funds, town and community council grants, local environmental funding, corporate partnerships, and other sources of support available in your area. They're well connected locally and may be able to help you identify funding opportunities you might not otherwise come across.

You can find a contacts list for local CVC's in Wales in the downloads below.
